Else Vellinga onderscheiden
Else Vellinga, behorende tot de top van professionele mycologen in de wereld, is onderscheiden met de 'Lincoff Award for Contributions to Amateur Mycology', een erkenning van buitengewone bijdragen aan de voortgang en ontwikkeling van de amateurmycologie. Net als hier zijn ook elders in de wereld en dus ook in Noord-Amerika, waar Else werkzaam is in het Tom Bruns' lab bij UC-Berkeley, amateurmycologen van groot belang bij het verzamelen van kennis over de mycoflora. Else, die meer dan 100 wetenschappelijke publicaties - met name over parasolzwammen - op haar naam heeft staan, publiceerde daarnaast ook heel veel gezamenlijk met amateurmycologen in uiteenlopende vaktijdschriften en staat daarnaast altijd open om mensen te helpen, ook in Nederland, waar verschillende mensen regelmatig contact met haar hebben.

Else Vellinga, one of the top professional mycologists in the world, has received the ‘Lincoff Award for Contributions to Amateur Mycology’, a recognition of exceptional contributions to the progress and development of amateur mycology. Just as here and elsewhere in the world, including North America, where Else works in the Tom Bruns lab at UC-Berkely, amateur mycologists are of great importance in the gathering of knowledge about mycoflora. Else, who has more than 100 scientific publications - especially about Parasols and Dapperlings, to her name, also published lots of material together with amateur mycologists in various periodicals and is also always ready to help other people, including in the Netherlands, where several people have regular contact with her.
